Claire Simpson, a 10 year old from Gulfport, MS earns the Wicked Responsible certification for her initiative for studying a biodegradable water bottle and coordinating the Aveda bottle cap recycling program in her school.
For the 2010 Science Fair at Bayou View Elementary school, Claire decided to study the biodegration of a water bottle that is made from corn for her science project. This clever young lady created her own home compost environment for the purpose of validating the claims the bottle manufacturer makes. Listening to her describe her research, The Natural Girl can see and hear the passion she possesses for the environment. She tells us how the process of making this bottle is a gentler process on our natural resources. Claire did all her own research; with every question that arose, she diligently sought the answer. Impressive!
While working on her science project, Claire realized the bottle caps were not being recycled. This concerned her and she asked her mother to help her research the dilemma. Together they discovered that Aveda has a bottle cap recycling program. Claire has taken on the project at her school, enrolling the support of her teacher, and her peers. Claire is a young lady with passion, drive, and commitment! For winning first place in the Science Fair at her school and starting the Aveda bottle cap recycle program, The Natural Girl is proud to endorse Claire Simpson as: “Wicked Responsible!!”
